Part Time Night Security Guard

Position Summary
The Evening Security team member is responsible for helping maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for hotel guests, visitors, and employees during evening hours. This role monitors the hotel, responds to guest and staff concerns, assists with incident response, and supports the overall safety and security of the hotel while providing friendly, professional service.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Conduct regular security and safety walks throughout the hotel, including guest floors, public areas, entrances, exits, parking areas, and other designated areas.


• Monitor hotel activity and identify situations that may present a safety, security, or guest-service concern.


• Respond promptly and professionally to guest, employee, and management requests for security assistance.


• Address disturbances, unauthorized activity, and other situations in accordance with hotel policies and procedures.


• Assist with maintaining a safe and orderly environment during busy evening hours, events, and high-occupancy periods.


• Monitor entrances, exits, and other access points as assigned.


• Assist with enforcing hotel policies regarding guest behavior, noise, access, and overall property safety.


• Respond to emergencies and safety concerns and contact emergency services when necessary.


• Complete incident reports and other required security documentation accurately and promptly.


• Document unusual activity, property damage, guest concerns, and other incidents occurring during the shift.


• Assist with emergency preparedness procedures, including fire, medical, weather, and other emergency situations.


• Maintain awareness of potential hazards and report maintenance or safety concerns to the appropriate department.


• Assist with crowd management and guest safety during hotel events or high-traffic periods.


• Work collaboratively with Front Office, Maintenance, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, and management teams to address operational and security concerns.


• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling guest, employee, and hotel information.


• Provide a welcoming and service-oriented presence while maintaining appropriate security awareness.


• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by hotel management.

Qualifications

• Previous security, hotel, hospitality, customer service, or related experience preferred.


• Strong observation and situational awareness skills.


• Ability to remain calm and professional when handling difficult or unexpected situations.


• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.


• Ability to exercise good judgment and make appropriate decisions in a fast-paced environment.


• Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with hotel team members.


• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive situations professionally.


• Must be able to work evening hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.


• Ability to regularly walk throughout the hotel and property.


• Ability to respond quickly to safety and security concerns.


• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull items as needed to perform assigned duties.

Work Environment
This position works primarily during evening hours in a busy hotel environment and requires frequent interaction with guests, employees, vendors, and visitors. The Evening Security team member must be comfortable working independently, remaining alert throughout the shift, and responding appropriately to changing situations.
