Description
The ideal candidate will be welcoming, dependable and organized, and possess strong communication and computer skills. This role supports the day-to-day administrative operations of the parish office and assists as a first point of contact for parishioners and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
• Greet and assist visitors in a professional and courteous manner
• Answer phones, take messages, and direct calls as appropriate
• Perform general clerical duties including filing, data entry, photocopying and mail distribution
• Maintain parish records and update databases as needed
• Assist with preparing weekly bulletins and communications
• Help coordinate office calendars, events, and appointments
• Support staff and ministry leaders with administrative tasks
• Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate sensitivity to parish needs
Qualifications:
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Willingness to learn church database systems
• Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a busy environment
• Friendly, professional demeanor and a commitment to the values of the Catholic Church
• Previous office or administrative experience preferred
Schedule: Part-Time (approximately 16-20 hours/week; flexible, schedule to be determined)
Reports To: Parish Office Manager or Pastor
