Join Our Team at Allergy Associates of Western Michigan!

Are you a Certified Registered Nurse or a Licensed Practical Nurse looking for a fulfilling role in a supportive and dynamic environment? We are excited to announce openings for either a Part-time or Full-time Nurse to join our dedicated team!

Why Join Us?

At Allergy Associates of Western Michigan, we have been committed to providing exceptional care for nearly 40 years. With two convenient locations in Grandville and Grand Rapids, we offer a collaborative and patient-focused work environment where your skills and compassion can truly make a difference.

Position Summary

The Allergy Practice Nurse plays a critical role in delivering safe, high-quality patient care in an allergy and immunology clinic. This position supports physicians by administering allergy treatments, monitoring patient responses, providing patient education, and ensuring accurate clinical documentation. The nurse serves as a key clinical resource for patients undergoing diagnostic testing and ongoing allergy therapy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care to adult and pediatric patients in an allergy practice setting, under the direction of a physician or advanced practice provider

  • Administer allergy immunotherapy injections (subcutaneous and/or sublingual), biologic medications, and other ordered treatments in accordance with established protocols

  • Monitor patients for adverse reactions following injections or testing; promptly recognize and respond to allergic reactions, including anaphylaxis, per emergency protocols

  • Perform and assist with allergy-related diagnostic procedures such as skin prick testing, intradermal testing, spirometry, and peak flow measurements (as applicable to scope of practice)

  • Accurately document patient care, treatments, observations, and outcomes in the electronic health record (EHR)

  • Review patient histories, medications, and allergy profiles prior to treatment and alert providers of any concerns or contraindications

  • Educate patients and families on allergy conditions, treatment plans, immunotherapy schedules, medication usage, and emergency response (e.g., epinephrine auto-injector use)

  • Coordinate care by scheduling follow-up appointments, tests, referrals, and treatment plans in collaboration with providers and administrative staff

  • Maintain clinical supplies, medication storage, and injection logs in compliance with regulatory and safety standards

  • Adhere to all HIPAA, OSHA, infection control, and clinic policies and procedures

  • Provide compassionate, patient-centered care in a fast-paced outpatient environment

  • Perform other clinical duties as assigned to support clinic operations

What We’re Looking For:

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in Michigan, in good standing

  • Previous clinical nursing experience required; outpatient or specialty practice experience preferred

  • Experience in allergy, asthma, immunology, pediatrics, or family medicine strongly preferred

  • Current CPR/BLS certification required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills

  • Ability to recognize and respond to allergic reactions and medical emergencies

  • Excellent communication and patient education skills

  • High attention to detail with strong documentation accuracy

  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team

  • Comfort working with pediatric and adult patient populations

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy clinical setting

Physical and Working Conditions

  • Frequent standing, walking, and use of hands for clinical procedures

  • Occasional lifting of medical supplies and equipment

  • Potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens, allergens, and medications consistent with a healthcare setting

What We Offer:

  • A supportive and collaborative work environment.

  • Opportunities for professional growth and development.

  • The chance to make a meaningful impact on patients' lives.

About Us:
