Job Description - Part-Time Personal Trainer


Part-time Coach

Location: Alloy Personal Training – East Pasadena, CA

Compensation: $32/hour

Start Date: as soon as possible

Our clients, typically aged 40 to 65, benefit from small-group sessions (no more than six clients per coach), ensuring they receive individualized attention and care. With plans to expand to four studios in the San Gabriel Valley, we are excited to open our first location in East Pasadena!

We’re looking for a driven, enthusiastic, and passionate individual to lead as our Part-time Coach and help us build an extraordinary fitness community.

Position Summary

As the Part-time Coach, you’ll lead the personal training sessions and ensure client retention through accountability and community engagement. You’ll collaborate closely with the Director of Training and Head Coach to maintain a premium fitness experience and help clients achieve their goals.

Leadership and Culture

  • Uphold and embody Alloy’s mission, values, and culture.
  • Ensure delivery of excellent client experience, with a retention goal of 95% or higher.
  • Attend staff meetings to align on goals, strategy, and studio performance.

Training and Coaching

  • Lead small-group sessions (up to six clients) with personalized instruction to meet individual goals and needs.
  • Conduct Starting Point Sessions (SPS) to onboard new clients and set them up for success.
  • Monitor and adjust clients’ training plans to ensure consistent progress.

Client Engagement

  • Build strong relationships with clients to foster engagement, retention, and trust.
  • Conduct accountability sessions to track client progress and provide ongoing support.
  • Create a fun, energetic, and welcoming environment for clients of all fitness levels.

Studio Operations

  • Work closely with owners and Director of Training to assist with studio and business events, contributing to a vibrant and dynamic fitness community.
  • Participate in promotional events to build awareness and attract new clients.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional studio environment.

Flexibility and Teamwork

  • Be available for evenings, weekends, and other times as needed to support studio operations.
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure seamless delivery of services and a positive client experience.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 1+ years of personal training experience in a high-end gym or studio.
  • Certification from a nationally recognized organization (NASM, ACSM, NSCA, ACE, etc.).
  • Proven leadership experience in the fitness industry.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for helping clients achieve their health and fitness goals.
  • A team-oriented mindset with a proactive attitude and flexibility.
  • Ability to inspire and engage clients while fostering a sense of community.
  • CPR/AED/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Proficiency in productivity tools (Microsoft Office, Google Suite) and MindBody, Trainerize, GoHighLevel
