Job Description - Part-Time Purchasing & Inventory Coordinator

Position Summary:

The Purchasing and Inventory Coordinator plays a crucial role in maintaining accurate records of inventory and tracking shipments and finished lots. This position reports directly to the Plant Scheduler & Buyer and requires a highly organized and detail-oriented individual. The role is part-time, with an expected schedule of 20–25 hours per week.


Job Responsibilities:


  • Control and track raw material inventory for two locations.

  • Log and track finished good lots and raw material shipments.

  • Verify and enter inventory-related Accounts Receivable and Payable information.

  • Complete inventory process audit and daily paperwork audit. Resolve discrepancies.


Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:


  • Excellent time management, organizational, and follow-through skills.

  • Ability to respond quickly and accurately to requests for data with a strong focus on providing excellent customer service.

  • Positive attitude and collaborative approach to working in a team environment.


Education & Experience:


  • Associate's Degree preferred.

  • Previous inventory control experience.

  • Experience working in BusinessWorks and TraceGains preferred.


Work Environment:

Exposure to both the office setting and food manufacturing facility.

  • Significant amount of time working at a computer station
  • Occasional visits to various areas of the manufacturing floor
    • Must wear required PPE while in all manufacturing areas.
  • Moving parts and machinery are present in the plant.


Physical demands:

  • Frequent sitting, standing, or walking.
  • Occasional ability to lift up to 20lbs.
  • Noise levels will vary, higher noise levels exist while in the plant operations areas.
