Description

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Residential Mental Health Clinical Trainee to join our team at North Homes Children & Family Services. This part-time position offers the opportunity to work in a residential setting, providing essential mental health services to children and families in the Grand Rapids, Minnesota area.

The Mental Health Clinical Trainee is responsible for providing consultation, planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of mental health program services. This role includes delivering individual, family, and group psychotherapy, conducting comprehensive evaluations, and overseeing treatment plans. The position is essential for ensuring high-quality care for clients while collaborating with clinical teams and participating in the ongoing development of mental health services.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Duties

  • Therapeutic Services
  • Provide individual psychotherapy to clients, tailoring treatment to their specific mental health needs.
  • Conduct family psychotherapy to address relational dynamics and support family systems.
  • Facilitate group psychotherapy sessions, fostering a supportive environment for clients to engage in collective healing.
  • Complete comprehensive evaluations to determine the mental health needs of clients, documenting findings and treatment recommendations.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Review and update treatment plans regularly, ensuring they reflect client progress and evolving needs.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for providing consultation on mental health emergencies.
  • Document all clinical services, including consultations, assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, in compliance with agency and regulatory requirements.

Collaboration and Supervision

  • Meet weekly with the Clinical Supervisor for supervision and professional development.
  • Attend multidisciplinary meetings to discuss cases, program developments, and cross-disciplinary collaboration.
  • Provide supervision and guidance to staff as necessary, including those delivering CTSS services, ensuring effective treatment delivery.
  • Complete the required training and continuing education to maintain licensure and professional competence.

Administrative and Billing Responsibilities

  • Adhere to the agency’s expectations, ensuring timely and accurate documentation for mental health services.
  • Ensure that all consultation and therapy sessions are documented appropriately, following agency and insurance provider guidelines.

  • Regular working hours, with some evening or weekend hours required to accommodate client schedules or on-call responsibilities.
  • Exposure to confidential and sensitive client information, requiring adherence to privacy and confidentiality standards, including HIPAA regulations.

Requirements

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting: This role requires extended periods of sitting while working with clients or performing administrative tasks.
  • Light lifting: Occasional lifting of up to 10-15 pounds, such as documents or office supplies.
  • Mobility: Ability to move between different office locations, meeting spaces, and client settings as necessary.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Must be complying with the licensure or board certification requirements for a mental health professional, including supervised practice in delivering mental health services for the treatment of mental illness; OR
  • Must be a student in a bona fide field placement or internship program that leads to licensure as a mental health professional.

Age and License Requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must possess a valid Minnesota Driver’s License.

Salary Description

$33.65 per hour
