The Goddard School – Charlestown, MA
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM (Year-Round)
Compensation: $21–$24/hour, based on experience and certifications

Are you a certified early childhood educator who thrives on flexibility, teamwork, and supporting your school community wherever needed? The Goddard School of Charlestown is hiring a Part-Time Resource Teacher to join our dedicated team in a year-round, consistent afternoon role.

This is a wonderful opportunity for someone with Infant/Toddler and Preschool EEC certification who enjoys a dynamic, team-based environment and takes pride in being a dependable presence across all classrooms.

About the Role

Our Resource Teacher is a vital support figure in the school. You will float between classrooms (Infants through Pre-K) each afternoon, assisting lead teachers, supervising children, and stepping in as needed to maintain a safe, joyful, and enriching environment.

In this role, you will:

Provide classroom coverage during breaks, meetings, or staff absences

Support transitions, activities, and end-of-day routines

Build relationships with children and colleagues across all age groups

Step in with confidence and care, no matter the classroom or task

Demonstrate professionalism, flexibility, and a team-first mindset every day

This is a year-round, non-seasonal position with a set afternoon schedule. You will also be expected to attend our monthly faculty meeting, held on Tuesday evenings from 6:00–8:00 PM during holiday weeks.

Who We’re Looking For

This position is ideal for an educator who:

Is EEC certified in both Infant/Toddler and Preschool categories

Has a strong work ethic, reliable attendance, and a positive attitude

Is confident supervising children and managing classroom routines across a range of ages

Can visually and audibly supervise children from a minimum distance of 50 feet

Is calm under pressure, flexible, and solutions-oriented

Works well in a collaborative, team-based environment

Enjoys contributing to the overall success of the school and supporting others

Required Qualifications

Certified by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) in both Infant/Toddler and Preschool

Able to meet EEC fingerprinting and background check requirements

Able to lift up to 50 lbs and assist with infant care (including crib and changing table transfers)

Able to attend monthly Tuesday evening faculty meetings (6:00–8:00 PM)

Must be available to work all scheduled hours: Monday–Friday, 1:00–6:00 PM
