The Goddard School – Charlestown, MA
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 1:00 PM (Year-Round)
Compensation: $21–$24/hour, based on experience and certifications

Are you a certified early childhood educator who thrives during morning routines, transitions, and the joyful start of a child’s day? The Goddard School of Charlestown is seeking a dependable, adaptable Part-Time Resource Teacher to support our classrooms across all age groups—from infants through Pre-K.

This is a year-round, non-seasonal role with consistent hours and the opportunity to make a real difference every day. We’re looking for someone with dual EEC certification who brings energy, flexibility, and a strong team spirit to their work.

About the Role

The Resource Teacher plays a key supportive role across the school. You’ll float between classrooms—Infant, Toddler, Preschool, and Pre-K—helping maintain continuity, safety, and warmth in each space. Your work will ensure smooth transitions, proper supervision, and a nurturing environment for every child.

Daily responsibilities include:

Greeting children and families at drop-off

Supporting classroom routines including feeding, diapering, and activities

Providing coverage during teacher breaks or planning time

Stepping in for absences or additional classroom needs

Collaborating with co-teachers and school leadership to maintain classroom standards

This role requires flexibility, initiative, and the ability to follow daily classroom plans while offering a calm, caring presence.

Who We’re Looking For

This position is ideal for an educator who:

Holds EEC certification in both Infant/Toddler and Preschool

Is comfortable floating between different classrooms and age groups

Can supervise children visually and audibly from at least 50 feet

Is reliable, punctual, and professional in communication and conduct

Takes initiative and enjoys working in a collaborative environment

Is passionate about supporting children, teachers, and the school community

You’ll also be required to attend our monthly faculty meeting (held on Tuesday evenings, 6:00–8:00 PM during holiday weeks).

Qualifications

Certified by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care in Infant/Toddler and Preschool categories

Able to meet all EEC background check and fingerprinting requirements

Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs, including infant care (crib and changing table use)

Able to work all scheduled hours: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 1:00 PM

Willing and able to float across classrooms and assist wherever needed
