Part-Time School Counselor
Private Elementary School – Montclair, NJ (Early Ages-8th Grade)

We are a small, mission-driven private elementary school in Montclair, NJ, seeking a compassionate and experienced Part-Time School Counselor to support the social-emotional needs of our students and to provide support for our faculty and staff as needed.

This is an in person part time position for 2-3 hours per day from Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities:

• Provide short-term individual and group counseling to students in grades K–8
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to support students’ emotional and behavioral well-being
• Support the school’s social-emotional learning program
• Respond to student needs and provide crisis intervention when necessary
• Offer guidance and referrals to families when appropriate
• Work closely with the Head of School on all student and family issues.
  
  
  
  

• Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in school counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field
• Prior experience working with elementary-age children in a school setting preferred
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive school culture
