Position/Title:  Part-Time School Psychologist

Appointment:  School Year 2025-2026 

Reports To:   Director of Learning Strategies

Position Summary:

Laurel School is seeking a part-time licensed school psychologist (three days a week) to support the academic, social, and emotional well-being of our students for the upcoming 2025-2026 academic year. This person would be responsible for working with students in our Middle and Upper Schools and would be an integral member of the student support team at both levels. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with educators, parents, and support staff to assess students' needs, develop intervention strategies, and provide counseling services.

Duties and responsibilities include:

• Provide individual and group counseling for students to address social-emotional and behavioral concerns.
• Develop and implement behavioral and academic intervention strategies.
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to support students with learning differences and mental health challenges.
• Interpret and analyze assessment results to guide educational planning and interventions.
• Participate in eligibility determinations for special education services.
• Collaborate with local school districts to help families through the evaluation process (including attending ETR and IEP meetings)
• Ensure student learning plans are being followed and updated annually
• Coordinate learning support with teachers and outside tutors/interventionists for students in EC-12 (as needed)
• Assist in developing and implementing school-wide crisis response plans.
• Provide crisis intervention services and support for students and staff as needed.
• Administer assessment tools and interpret results
• Collaborate with psychologists, learning interventionists, faculty and parents
• Participate in faculty and staff meetings
• Communicate effectively in person, through email and through voice mail with varied school constituencies and parents
• Support divisional and school-wide initiatives 
• Instruct and develop seminar programming focused on social-emotional learning

Requirements

• Education: Master’s or Doctoral degree in School Psychology or related field.
• Licensure/Certification: Must hold a valid Ohio School Psychologist license 
• Experience: Experience in a school setting preferred.
• Skills: Strong communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills; ability to work with diverse student populations.
