Part-Time Spanish Interpreter for Family Therapy Clinic
Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate part-time Spanish Interpreter to join our Family Therapy Clinic in Edmond, OK. The ideal candidate will provide accurate and confidential interpretation services during mental health counseling sessions, facilitating clear communication between Spanish-speaking clients and our therapists.
Responsibilities:
- Interpret spoken communication between Spanish-speaking clients and mental health professionals during therapy sessions.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all interpreting assignments.
- Facilitate clear and accurate communication to support effective mental health counseling.
- Work collaboratively with therapists and clinic staff to ensure client comfort and understanding.
- Assist with cultural nuances and context to enhance communication and therapeutic outcomes.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Fluent in both Spanish and English, with excellent verbal communication skills.
- Experience interpreting in medical or mental health settings preferred.
- Strong understanding of confidentiality and ethical guidelines related to mental health services.
- Ability to remain neutral and professional during sensitive conversations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity.
- Active member of a local church and aligned with OC’s Christian mission
