Overview of Position

The Montclair Cooperative School seeks a part time Spanish Teacher  (6-10 hours per week) beginning September 2025 for grades Early Ages through 2nd Grade.   The Spanish teacher is responsible for his/her students and curriculum as well as collaborating with classroom teachers. We seek a talented Spanish teacher who can inspire students with experiential learning and collaborate creatively with classroom teachers.

Qualifications

In addition to fluency in Spanish and English, candidates should have knowledge of and appreciation for the cultural aspects of language instruction. Candidate’s pedagogy and classroom management should be student-centered. The ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and excellent communication skills with colleagues and parents are also important.  A desire to integrate curriculum with other subjects and teach in a progressive context is critical.  Successful teaching experience and - a Masters degree in Spanish language is preferred Co-op teachers are lifelong learners who are reflective about their practice.
