Part Time Special Needs Caregiver – Plantation, FL

A family in Plantation, FL 33317 is seeking an experienced and compassionate caregiver to support their 30-year-old loved one with non-verbal autism. The ideal candidate will be dependable, patient, and comfortable providing companionship and transportation support to an adult with special needs.

Schedule:

• Start Date: ASAP

• Monday–Friday, 2:30 PM–5:30/6:00 PM (15–17.5 hours per week)


• Additional daytime hours available (July 10–August 14 Starting at 10am)  and Weekend availability if interested.

Family Specifications:

• Smoke-free home


• One small dog in the home (no pet care required)

Responsibilities:

• Pick up from the Michael Ann Russell Jewish Community Center day program in Aventura, FL 33180 and provide safe transportation to the family's home in Plantation, FL 33317 (approximately a 30–40 minute commute).


• Provide companionship and supervision until a family member returns home from work


• Support routines and provide a calm, structured environment


• Monitor for safety and communicate any concerns with the family

Requirements:

• Previous experience supporting individuals with autism spectrum disorder and/or special needs required


• Valid driver's license, reliable personal vehicle, and active car insurance required


• Ability to reliably commute to both the day program and the family's home

Preferred:

• First Aid/CPR Certifications

Compensation:

• $25–$30/hour DOE


• $50/week gas reimbursement


• Entertainment expenses covered
