Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable small maintenance contractor to provide part-time, as-needed repair and maintenance services for multiple childcare facilities in the Minnesota region. Work will be scheduled and on-call based on repair needs, safety items, and small projects.

This role is ideal for an experienced small maintenance contractor looking for steady supplemental work.

Scope of Work

• General repairs and small maintenance projects
• Basic plumbing repairs (leaks, fixtures, clogs)
• Minor electrical work (fixtures, outlets, switches — within license limits)
• Drywall and patching repairs
• Door, lock, and hardware repairs
• Flooring and tile spot repairs
• Playground and safety item repairs
• Light carpentry projects
• Safety corrections noted in inspections

Requirements

• 3+ years handyman or general maintenance experience
• Must provide own tools and transportation
• Ability to complete jobs independently
• Licensed/insured contractor preferred (or willing to obtain)
• Must be comfortable working in occupied childcare facilities
• Valid driver’s license

Compliance Requirements (MN Childcare Facilities)

• Must pass Minnesota DHS background study before starting onsite work
• Must follow childcare safety and supervision rules while onsite
• Must sign contractor safety agreement

Schedule & Pay

• Part-time / as-needed work
• Flexible scheduling
• Some after-hours or weekend work preferred
• Hourly or per-project rates — negotiable
• Mileage reimbursed for multi-site travel (if applicable)
