Part Time Teller

Description

Provides services to customers, ensuring transactions are completed in accordance with established procedures. This position has extensive customer contact and responsibility for answering questions, solving customer problems and selling bank services. Refers customers to other bank personnel as needed.

Requirements

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Communicates with customers by phone or in person and receives instructions regarding the posting to customer accounts. Assists customers with routine questions.
• Daily open and maintain a Teller drawer to accept cash and cash items from customers for deposit to the designated account(s).
• Process savings account deposits and withdrawals including closeouts.
• Attends to Drive-In lanes for customer service.
• Verifies and processes night deposits and mail deposits.
• Assists with ATM balancing and restocking if trained to do so.
• Accepts checks for cashing up to a stated authority checking for sufficient collected funds and stop payment orders. Takes special precautions when cashing non-customer, non-on-us checks to protect the bank from fraud and loss.
• Balances cash funds daily and accurately accounts for currency sold to or received from main vault. Operates cash drawer within established limits for bank security.
• Accepts and accurately processes commercial, consumer and mortgage loan payments. May assist with construction loan draws if trained to do so.
• Provides other bank services to customers such as cashier’s checks, money orders savings bonds, traveler’s checks, stop payments, gift cards, and Christmas Clubs.
• Assists customer with basic checking, savings and time deposit account opening if trained to do so.
• Comply with “Bank Secrecy Act” when dealing with customer cash transactions as well as all other bank policies and procedures.
• Assist with monthly Security Reporting, to include audits.
• Assist customer with completing wire transfer forms.
• Complete CTRs/Selling of monetary instruments.
• Prepares affidavits and stop payments.
