Behavioral Health Clinician

Job Brief

This position provides face-to-face counseling to individuals, groups, adults, children, and families. TMWC clinicians are responsible for maintaining your caseload and completing all required documentation governed by insurance and company policy.  

As a behavioral health clinician, you are often your client's first point of contact.  This means you should always be professional, friendly, and empathetic to client needs.  

Responsibilities

• Maintain a professional appearance and attitude in face-to-face interactions and on social media. 


• Complete intake assessments include documentation such as Mental Status Exams, Biopsychosocial, and appropriate assessments by the diagnosis, etc. 


• Effectively create and carry out treatment plans using evidence-based practices.


• Communicate with referral sources and Primary Care Physicians after initial intake and every 90 days as insurance requires. 


• Complete progress notes within 24 hours of the time of service. 


• Complete timesheet daily, reflecting the billable hours worked.


• Maintained client’s charts and keep complete and correct documentation.


• Complete discharge summaries as required by insurance. 


• Develop rapport with clients to facilitate a healthy professional relationship. 


• Exercise sound clinical and professional judgment. 

Requirements

• Master’s Degree in Professional Counseling or related field and licensed in Illinois and from a CACREP Accredited Program (LPCA, LPCC, CSW, LPA, LSW, LPC, LCSW, LMFT, etc.).


• Knowledge and clinical experience with children, teens, and/or adults with mental health 

issues (trauma, anxiety, transitional issues, parenting, depression, borderline personality disorder, etc.)

• Must know current theoretical approaches to the delivery of counseling services. 


• Must know strategies for examining, applying, and evaluating cognitive/behavioral therapy concepts. Additional skills required include a thorough knowledge of the clinical aspects of the mental health field.

Additional Information

All interested applicants will be asked to provide a diagnostic assessment on-site and write a clinical note and treatment plan to demonstrate evidence of sound clinical skills.
