Yoga and Zumba Instructor – Before and after School Programs
Part-Time | 2-3 Days per Week | South Bay San Diego Schools
Position Overview:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Yoga and Zumba Instructors to lead dynamic and engaging classes for elementary school students in before-school programs across South Bay San Diego schools. This part-time position offers a rewarding opportunity to inspire young minds and bodies through physical activity and mindfulness practices.
Responsibilities:
- Lead 1-hour Yoga and Zumba sessions designed for elementary-aged students, focusing on age-appropriate techniques and movements.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and engaging environment that encourages participation and fun.
- Design class plans that balance physical activity (Zumba) and mindfulness (Yoga) to promote focus, emotional well-being, and physical fitness.
- Ensure student safety by maintaining a safe and organized environment during classes.
- Arrive on time and prepared with all necessary materials and equipment for the program.
- Foster a respectful and supportive atmosphere that encourages teamwork and self-confidence among students.
- Communicate effectively with school staff, program coordinators, and parents as needed.
Qualifications:
- Experience teaching Yoga and/or Zumba to children, preferably in elementary school settings.
- Certification in Yoga and/or Zumba (or similar fitness certifications) highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to connect with young learners.
- Energetic and engaging personality with a passion for promoting health and wellness in children.
- Ability to adapt classes to meet the needs and skill levels of diverse groups of students.
- Must pass a background check and meet any additional district or program requirements for working with children.
Schedule:
- 2-3 mornings per week, between the hours of 7:00 AM - 9:00 AM, before the start of the school day.
- Exact schedule and school assignments will be determined based on program needs and instructor availability.
Location:
South Bay San Diego Schools. Reliable transportation is required to travel to different school locations within the area.
Compensation:
Competitive hourly rate, commensurate with experience and certifications.
Rage $35 - $50 - per class
