Job Description - Pastoral Fellowship

Bridgetown believes in the participation of all people at every life stage in practicing the way of Jesus. We believe that to be an apprentice of Jesus of Nazareth is to order your life around three goals: be with Jesus, become like Jesus, and do what Jesus did. Our dream is that as we live this way, our lives, our communities, and our city, will be transformed.

Role Summary

Bridgetown Church’s Pastoral Fellowship exists to provide those who sense a call to vocational pastoral ministry the opportunity to receive practical ministry experience through shadowing Bridgetown pastors and participating with them in hands-on ministry. This program is ideal for those who: have a clear call to ministry, are teachable, have a strong work ethic and servant's heart, desire to work in various ministry areas, and resonate with Bridgetown’s beliefs, values, philosophy and practices. The aim of this program is not to lead to full-time employment at Bridgetown upon completion. Our hope is that the experience of a Fellowship at Bridgetown would enrich someone's life deeply and help prepare them for ongoing ministry in whatever context the Lord leads them to next.

Details

A Fellow should expect to work with one or two Bridgetown teams during the course of a five month term. From a practical work perspective, Fellows will be directed by and offered regular feedback about performance from the leaders of those teams. Focuses of work and ministry could be in the area of Communities, Gatherings, Justice, Kids, Alpha, Young Adults, Covenant Community or Youth. In addition, each Fellow will be paired with a staff pastoral mentor with whom they will meet bi-weekly during their term. If joining for a second five month term, Fellows can expect to shift and work with a different team(s) than during their first term. Fellows will have an open invitation to participate in Bridgetown weekly staff meetings and other meetings relevant to the work focus during their term(s). In addition, Fellows will receive opportunities to learn and develop alongside other Fellows in bi-weekly Fellowship Cohort Sessions, occasional 1-1s and via training sessions hosted by full-time staff members with guest experts and practitioners.

Dates & Compensation

Fellowship term: Sept 1 - Dec 24, 2025. Note: One subsequent Fellowship term may be available for those who are performing well and who desire to continue. That following term will run Jan 5 - June 30, 2026. Pay is at an hourly rate of $16.50 and averages 24 hours per week. The position is part-time and temporary and, thus, does not include benefits.
