JOB OVERVIEW

• Job Title: Physician – Pediatric Hospitalist

• On-Call Shift Schedule: 24-hour call, 7a – 7a

• Call Type: Telephone with 30-minute response

• Call Ratio: Solo coverage

• Call Response Time: 30 minutes

• Future dates TBD – anticipated 1–2 weeks per month, ongoing

PATIENT INFORMATION

• Patient Demographics: Pediatrics only (100% pediatric coverage)

• Patient Volume/Census: No inpatient pediatrics; hospital licensed for 5 inpatient couplet rooms

• Admissions: 0–3 average admissions per call shift

• Phone Consults: Yes

• Case Mix: Pediatric admissions and consultations only

FACILITY INFORMATION

• No. of Beds in Department: 5 inpatient couplet rooms (licensed)

• EMR System: Cerner

• Reason for Coverage: Candidate retiring

PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE

• Hospital Privileges Required: Yes (Full & Temp available)

• Temporary Privileges Available: Yes

• Credentialing Timeline: 30 days

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

• Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered (Airfare, Mileage, Lodging, Rental Car)

- Airfare: Economy, no upgrades, 1 checked bag

- Lodging: $150/night cap (no incidentals; Syncx preferred hotels available)

- Mileage: IRS mileage rates

- Rental Car: April–November mid-size car ($50/day); December–March mid-size 4WD SUV ($75/day)

REQUIRED PROCEDURES

• Pediatric call coverage only (no specific procedures listed)

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Licenses: Active Pennsylvania medical license (IMLC accepted)

• Board: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatrics

• DEA: Active DEA Certification required

• Certifications: NALS, PALS

• Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty

• Other Qualifications: Comfortable managing pediatric admissions and consultations independently

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide 24-hour pediatric hospitalist call coverage

• Respond to pediatric admissions and telephone consults within 30 minutes

• Manage average of 0–3 admissions per call shift

• Work independently as solo provider

• Document care and consultations accurately in Cerner EMR
