Make a Difference Beyond the Classroom

Tutor Doctor El Paso is seeking an exceptional educator to work one-on-one with two homeschool students throughout the school year. This is more than a tutoring position—we’re looking for someone who can become a trusted mentor, inspire curiosity, and create a learning environment where students feel confident, challenged, and excited to learn.

About the Students

You’ll be working with two wonderful homeschool students who thrive with an educator who is patient, creative, and genuinely invested in their success.

The ideal educator understands that learning isn’t one-size-fits-all and enjoys incorporating hands-on activities, technology, books, projects, discussions, educational games, and real-world experiences into instruction.

One student benefits from specialized support for dyslexia, while both students learn best through personalized instruction, encouragement, and consistency.

What You’ll Do

• Plan and teach engaging lessons across multiple subject areas.
  
• Adapt instruction to each student’s learning style, interests, and pace.
  
• Create meaningful, hands-on learning experiences beyond traditional worksheets.
  
• Foster curiosity, independence, and confidence.
  
• Support executive functioning, organization, and study habits when appropriate.
  
• Build trusting relationships while maintaining professional boundaries.
  
• Communicate regularly with parents regarding progress and upcoming goals.
  
• Collaborate with Tutor Doctor to ensure students continue making meaningful progress.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required (Education or related field preferred).
  
• Teaching, tutoring, homeschooling, or special education experience strongly preferred.
  
• Experience supporting students with dyslexia, ADHD, autism, or other learning differences is highly valued.
  
• Strong lesson planning and organizational skills.
  
• Reliable transportation.
  
• Ability to pass a background check.
  

Benefits

Schedule & Compensation

• Approximately 24 hours per week.
  
• School-year commitment from August 18 through June 30.
  
• Regular school holidays and breaks observed.
  
• Pay ranges from $30–$34 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications +$125 weekly for lesson planning and reports
