Job Summary

We are searching for an experienced Pet Groomer to join the team at our successful grooming business. As a Pet Groomer, you will bathe and clip dogs and Cats according to breed-specific standards and owner preferences. You will also trim nails, clean ears, detangle hair and generally ensure that pets look and feel their best. If you are reliable, compassionate, and have a love for pets, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities

Brush and detangle or remove matted fur

Bathe dogs and dry coat

Execute a variety of clipping techniques and style requests

Examine for parasites or other skin conditions

Trim nails

Ensure the safety of dogs at all times

Adhere to strict sanitary and cleaning procedures

Communicate effectively and compassionately with pet owners

Qualifications

Previous experience as a dog grooming technician or similar role

Comfortable working with anxious animals

Comfortable bathing and grooming Cats

Ability to stand for long periods and lift large dogs over 60 pounds

Willingness to learn new techniques and participate in continuing education

Able to communicate effectively with coworkers and dog owners

Strong attention to detail

Compensation: $500.00 - $1,000.00 per week

Open in 2006, Happy Paws is New York City's premier pet retail, doggy daycare and grooming store located in trendy NoHo in the heart of downtown Manhattan! We are under new management and in the process of re-opening all services to become a convenient one stop shop for all pet care, boarding, grooming and training needs.
