Job Summary
Assists the pharmacist, under supervision, in preparation medications for dispensing.
Type: Part-Time, Mornings, 9am-2pm three to four days per week. Some weekends and evening coverage.

Job Functions
- Understands and follows applicable Federal and State laws (e.g., HIPAA), regulations (e.g., OSHA), professional standards, and ethical principles
- Receives and verifies written prescriptions or refill requests for accuracy
- Under pharmacist supervision, mixes and prepares pharmaceutical medications according to written prescriptions and/or formulas
- Maintains proper storage and ensures necessary security of all drugs
- Maintains proper storage of prescription copies in accordance with all regulations
- Establishes and maintains patient profiles
- Receives and stores incoming drug or other related pharmacy supplies
- Verifies invoices and physical quantities received of incoming items
- Monitors medications inventory and quarantines all outdated medications in accordance with policy
- Works with buyer or purchasing agent to keep medications in stock to acceptable levels
- Attends to, maintains, and assists patients with front end retail products
- Assists in keeping the work environment clean and tidy
- All other duties as assigned
Skills & Minimum Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Ability to do basic math calculations
- Obtains FL Pharmacy Tech License within 1 year of hire
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Critical thinking
- Attention to detail
- Warm & welcoming personality that delivers great customer service
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience: 1-2 years of pharmacy related experience or vocational training
- Florida Pharmacy Technician License active and in good standing
Physical Demands
Ability to stand for an extended period of time. Dexterity to use a computer and work with small instruments and objects for an extended period of time. Ability to move, push, pull, and place objects overhead. Bending/squatting/lifting requiring full use of the lower extremities and back muscles. Is able to lift and unload items of 30 pounds.
