Physical Therapist Assistant (PRN)

The Lutheran Home is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) for a PRN position on our dynamic team. This role includes weekday hours between 8:00 am and 4:30 pm and occasional weekend coverage as needed. As a PTA, you will assist in implementing treatment plans developed by our physical therapists to support the needs of residents in our healthcare community. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

• Assist in the implementation of treatment plans and carry out routine functions.
• Document the progress of treatment and modify specific treatments in accordance with the patient’s status and within the scope of the treatment plan established by the physical therapist.
• Provide skilled assistance and instruction on ordered therapeutic components designed to meet established goals.
• Appropriately test or measure joint range-of-motion, manual muscle strength, vital signs, or other objective tests to determine effects of treatments.
• Transport patients to and from treatment areas, lifting and transferring them according to positioning requirements.
• Assist with discharge planning and recommendations to facilitate safe transition plans for beneficiaries when appropriate.

• Licensed to work as a Physical Therapist Assistant in Missouri
• Willing to work weekend hours
• Experience in a skilled nursing facility preferred
