Job Title: School Physical Therapist
Location: The Laurel Education Group (Private Schools for Students with Learning Differences)
Type: Part-Time (Up to 25 Hours/Week) | School Year 2025–2026

About Us:
The Laurel Education Group includes two private schools serving students with language-based learning differences, including dyslexia, in grades 1–12+. We are dedicated to creating an inclusive, supportive, and collaborative learning environment.

Role Overview:
We're seeking a compassionate and skilled Physical Therapist to join our team. You'll support students’ mobility, physical development, and participation in school activities. The role involves direct service, collaboration with staff, and contributions to students’ IEPs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct student screenings and comprehensive physical therapy evaluations using a range of tools (e.g., observations, standardized assessments, checklists, and interviews)
   
• Develop and implement individualized physical therapy plans based on evaluation results, student needs, and IEP goals
   
• Deliver direct, evidence-based therapy services in individual, small group, and classroom-integrated sessions
   
• Plan, prepare, and implement treatment plans as part of a collaborative team, including related service providers such as occupational and speech therapists
   
• Maintain accurate documentation including treatment plans, daily notes, progress reports, and IEP contributions
   
• Monitor and reassess student progress, adjusting interventions as needed to support ongoing development
   
• Participate in IEP and multidisciplinary team meetings to share findings, contribute to planning, and develop student-centered goals
   
• Adapt and modify the learning environment and materials, including assistive equipment, to improve student independence and access
   
• Provide training and support to staff and families to reinforce physical therapy strategies and safe mobility practices
   
• Ensure compliance with school, state, and licensure standards while maintaining professional and ethical standards
   
• Supervise physical therapy assistants if applicable
   
• Lift, move, and position students safely when required, following proper techniques and protocols
   
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of physical therapy principles, methods, materials, and equipment in an educational setting
   
• Collaborate positively with educators, administrators, and related service staff in a team-oriented environment
   
• Communicate effectively with students, staff, and families to support physical development and student success

Requirements

 Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program  
• NJ Physical Therapist License  
• NJDOE School Physical Therapist Certificate  
• NJDOE Fingerprints (Required)  
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills  
• Experience with autism or adaptive physical education a plus
