Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner: On Call 12-hour Night shift Weekdays and Weekends

Job Summary: As a PA/NP for our On Call Nights and Weekends role, you will play a crucial part in providing direct patient care and ensuring efficient clinal operations. Your responsibilities will include timely documentation of patient encounters in the EMR, conducting pre-employment physicals, and addressing worker’s compensation injuries by referring to specialists or the Emergency Room when necessary.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide and manage direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses and treatment.

• Administer treatment for injuries and illnesses following Evidence Based Medicine standards.

• Efficiently manage patients to maintain continuous patient flow and minimize wait times.

• Order and interpret diagnostic tests like x-ray, electrocardiogram, and laboratory tests.

• Perform minor outpatient surgical procedures such as wound closure, incision and drainage, and foreign body removal.

• Instruct and counsel patients on compliance with therapeutic regimens, communicate test results and follow-up care.

• Collaborate with the Clinic Medical Director to ensure adherence to medical and professional standards.

Qualifications and Skills

• Must have a valid unrestricted PA/NP license to practice in the state of California.
• Demonstrate a positive attitude and be a collaborative team player.
• Hold controlled substance license and DEA license with no restrictions.
• 1 year of urgent care or emergency medicine experience desired.
• Occupational Medicine experience preferred.
• New grads are welcome and we will train.
