Pianist

Location: Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson (JBER)

Position: Part-time

Duties:

• Coordinate with the chaplain for regularly scheduled worship services, special services/events, and seasonal observances.
• Ensure musical selections are appropriate for the type of worship service and Christian season.
• Provide music for funerals, memorials, and other observances.
• Set up, take down, and properly store musical equipment.
• Ensure chapel facilities are secured and clean after use.

Requirements:

• Preferred: Degree in music from an accredited institution.
• Minimum: Four years of experience in Protestant Church music.
• Proficiency in playing piano from sheet music or hymnal and assisting in vocal leads.
• Knowledge of Protestant Traditional music.
• Demonstration of musical ability, including playing hymnal music and reading sheet music.
