Pickleball Open Time Facilitator (Part-Time)

The Pickleball Open Time Facilitator will organize and oversee round-robin tournaments based on ability, ensure participant safety and enjoyment, and promote an inclusive and engaging atmosphere. This role is perfect for someone passionate about community recreation and skilled in creating meaning full experiences for players of all levels. 

Job Duties:

• Serve as an ambassador of the YMCA, demonstrating its core character values. 
• Organize and facilitate pickleball round-robin tournaments in the evening two nights a week from 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm (nights based on employee availability), including scheduling matches, maintaining brackets, and ensuring fair play. 
• Welcome participants, explain rules, and foster a fun, inclusive environment. 
• Ensure participant safety, including responding calmly and directing others during emergencies. 
• Maintain accurate records for attendance and payments.
• Provide feedback to participants on gameplay and progress. 
• Set up and take down equipment, ensuring the court area is clean and organized. 
• Build relationships with staff, members, and participants to enhance the sense of community. 

Minimal Qualifications

• Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications (required within 30 days of hire.)
• Physical ability to assist players on and off the courts and lift up to 15 pounds.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to project your voice across distances.
• Able to think critically, solve problems, instruct, evaluate, and make decisions in real-time. 
• Hearing ability and attentiveness to participant needs. 
• Flexible and adaptable to changes in schedules or tournament logistics.

Job Type: Part-time 

Pay: $18.00. Plus, Access to facilities for all YMCA employees, Employee Assistance Program, and Sick Leave
