We are looking for a skilled and motivated Pizza Cook to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality pizzas using our recipes and maintaining food safety and cleanliness standards at all times. You must be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, possess strong attention to detail, and have a passion for great food.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook pizzas according to standard recipes and customer preferences
- Roll and stretch dough by hand or machine
- Prepare pizza sauces, toppings, and other ingredients
- Monitor food stock and place orders when necessary
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the pizza prep station and kitchen area
- Operate pizza ovens, dough mixers, and other kitchen equipment safely
- Maintain food safety and hygiene standards at all times
- Coordinate with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure timely service
- Adapt to special dietary needs (gluten-free, vegan, etc.)
- Assist with opening, closing, and cleaning duties as needed
- Ensure that all food prepared is of consistently high quality and that portions are consistently controlled. Food tickets are complete and out in a timely manner.
- Set up/prep station before service, maintains throughout service, and breaks down station according to kitchen standards daily
- Maintains neat, professional appearance and observes personal cleanliness rules at all times
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Certificate in Culinary Arts or related field preferred
- ServSafe certified
- A minimum of 2+ years' experience in a similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of restaurant best practices and cooking methods.
- Must be able to work cooperatively and efficiently in a team.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to lift, push, pull, and move product, equipment and supplies up to fifty (50) pounds
Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting and reaching.
Regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, extreme cold, and extreme heat.
Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock
