Pre-GED Instructor

JOB SUMMARY: The Pre-GED instructor provides RLA and Math instruction to students 16 and older not enrolled in school. Some duties include planning lessons, monitoring and assessing student progress on an ongoing basis, creating and monitoring Individual Learning Plans with students, and collecting, recording and reporting all necessary information related to students in a timely manner.

12 hours a week

$25/hour

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Experience working with adult learners, Digital Literacy skills, Google proficient, demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively, strong communication skills, energy and enthusiasm 
• Teaches basic RLA and Math to young adults who are functioning below 9th grade Reading and/or, 6th grade Math levels.
• Creates and develops curriculum, lesson plans, teaching materials, and Individual Learning Plans to aid students in developing skills and confidence in basic academic areas.
• Integrates computer-aided instruction into lessons as appropriate.
• Monitors and assesses students’ progress on a regular basis.
• Provides Math and Reading foundation to prepare students for GED-level classes
• Participates in staff meetings.
• Participates in professional development as appropriate to the position.

Requirements of Position:

• Bachelor's Degree
• Relevant teaching experience

The environment is a clinical business office environment. This position requires the individual to have their own transportation, a current unrestricted license to drive, documented auto insurance.
