Preschool Teaching Assistant

Responsible for assisting a classroom Lead Teacher with the general supervision and management of a class of children.  Reports to the Preschool Director.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must exhibit high moral standards, stability, and a desire to work with and nurture children.  Participating member in her church, and spiritually dedicated to teaching about God, His Word, and His son, Jesus.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Diploma or GED


• CPR Certified (current)

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to, the following:


• Assist in planning and implementing the daily program under the direction of the Lead Teacher.


• Assist in planning and preparing the learning environment and preparing needed materials and supplies.


• Assist the lead teacher with implementation of appropriate early childhood education experiences.


• Help lead teacher to supervise and promote activities designed to enhance the healthy emotional, social, intellectual, and physical development of each child enrolled in the Preschool.


• Help to maintain a neat and organized classroom.


• Supervise the classroom when the Lead Teacher is out of the room.


• Help with general housekeeping tasks.


• Assist the lead teacher in other ways as requested.

• Assist in and attend public-relations events sponsored by the school.


• Assist the lead teacher in supervising all activities to ensure safety at all times.


• Assist the lead teacher in maintaining adult/child ratio at all times.


• Maintain a professional attitude and loyalty to the Preschool and Church at all times.


• Assist the lead teacher in supervising the upkeep of all educational equipment and materials in assigned classroom.


• Assist the lead teacher in being responsible for the ordered arrangement, appearance, decor, and learning environment of the classroom.


• Be familiar with and adhere to the policies and procedures listed in the PCC Preschool Parent Handbook.


• Maintain confidentiality at all times.


• Support co-workers and function as a member of the “team” at PCC Preschool.


• Exhibit good attendance and punctuality each school day.

• Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
