PRN-Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Infusion Nurse

SIMEDHealth is currently seeking a PRN Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for infusions in our Ocala, FL location. 

As an LPN, you will be responsible for providing medical care to our patients within the scope of your license and under the direction of a physician or other appropriate medical provider (ARNP/PA-C). The LPN shall help the Physician, Physician Assistant, and Nurse Practitioner in optimizing their clinic day.

Candidates should have the following qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing
• Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse with valid license to practice in the state of Florida
• Must be computer proficient in typing and various programs
• Ability to work with others as an effective team builder and team player
• Ability to take initiative set priorities, multi task and organize work
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Current CPR/BLS Certification (required)
• Intergy or other electronic health record experience (preferred)
• 3-5 years experience in a medical office/hospital setting (some in women's health required)

Listed below are some of the duties and responsibilities:

• Take vital signs
• Perform IV starts and monitor infusion from beginning to end
• Ensure proper techniques and practices are used
• Document information into EHR to include vitals, administered meds, and notes to the providers
• Oversee and maintain health status of patients during the infusion
• Ability to recognize and treat any side effects that may occur during and after an IV infusion
• Ability to conduct brief questionnaire with patient to ensure they have no visible signs of open wounds, lesions, fever, etc. prior to starting the infusion
• Assist in control and maintenance of supplies and equipment
• Follow scheduling and orders protocol prior to infusing the patient
• Schedule infusion appointments using EHR system
• Confirm with the infusion coordinator to ensure authorization is obtained for infusion
• Perform other nursing duties as assigned
