Program Assistant (Part Time)

Position Overview

ICS Thrive is our social adult day program that allows our members with physical disabilities to connect and socialize, enjoy healthy lunches and engage in a variety of on-site activities, including art and recreational programs, interactive games, and fitness programs that promote physical and mental health. The Program Assistant will assist program staff to implement the daily schedule.

Essential Functions

Under the direction and supervision of Thrive program manager, the Program Assistant is responsible for the following duties and responsibilities:

• Assists members engaged in program activities, including meals, projects, social activities.
• Support administrative functions such as member enrollment, data entry, and daily attendance tracking
• Assists with program implementation including serving and clearing food, setting up materials, arranging the room, and similar activities
• Observes and reports all accidents/incidents, medical changes or complaints immediately to senior manager
• Assists recreation staff in recreational activities in and outside the Social Adult Day Center facility, including occasional community based trips.
• Respond to the needs of members and the organization, even if those needs do not coincide with the details of this job description

The hourly pay is $16.50 per hour. This is a part time position, 16 - 20 hours per week. Exact schedule to be determined, but will be weekdays between 10:00 am - 3:00 pm.

Required Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and speak English
• Personal or professional experience with caring for people with physical and/or cognitive impairments
• Excellent interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Bilingual English/Spanish or English/Russian a plus
• Willingness to work in a group setting, desire to help build a community

• Prorated PTO, plus 11 holidays, in your first year
• Because this is a part time position, no health insurance or other benefits are offered.
