Job Description - Program Coordinator


ROLE
We are hiring an experienced Program Coordinator to support the IRS Criminal Investigation Division’s Frivolous Return Program (FRP) in Ogden, UT. This role focuses on tracking internal projects, coordinating deliverables, and streamlining communication between contractor staff and government personnel. You’ll analyze workflows, support strategic planning sessions, and maintain project trackers and reports using SharePoint and Microsoft Office.

This is a part-time opportunity ideal for semi-retired federal program managers or consultants seeking part-time government work.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Analyze program processes and systems to identify improvements in efficiency and practices
  • Relay information to staff and ensure all assignments are completed and reported per contract requirements
  • Coordinate with government stakeholders on personnel, labor, and project matters
  • Apply experience and judgment to help accomplish government goals
  • Track office projects and coordinate schedules and information across stakeholders
  • Use SharePoint and Microsoft Office to maintain project trackers and reports
  • Schedule and prepare for team meetings, including data collection and pre-read materials
  • Gather, analyze, and validate business needs across stakeholder groups
  • Support strategic planning sessions and follow through on action items
  • Develop simplified marketing materials from complex technical content
  • Organize project requirements and maintain momentum across tasks and contributors
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and annual contract status reports
  • Respond to feedback on deliverables within 10 business days
  • Submit editable documentation in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or Visio formats
  • Contribute to overall program performance and input for monthly progress reviews

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
  • Knowledge of project and program management practices
  • Strong coordination skills with the ability to keep tasks on track
  • Proficiency with SharePoint and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
  • Ability to gather and synthesize business requirements
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented, dependable, and organized

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
  • Eight (8) years of experience in program management
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
  • Experience managing or coordinating government contracts or programs

EDUCATION
  • High school diploma required
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

LOCATION
  • Ogden, UT 84404

TELEWORK
  • Not eligible for telework

CLEARANCE
  • U.S. citizenship is required as it supports the U.S. federal government

  • Travel is not required

Regularly required to sit for extended periods up to 100% of the time; frequently required to move about to access file cabinets and use office equipment such as PC, copier, fax, telephone, cell phone, etc. Occasionally required to reach overhead, bend, and lift objects of up to 10 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include the use of computer monitor screens up to 100% of the time.
