Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Supervisor

JOB TITLE : Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Supervisor

LOCATION : Navy Medical Center, Psychiatry, San Diego, CA

DUTIES :

• Provide postgraduate year-3 and postgraduate year-4 psychiatry residents psychoanalytic psychotherapy case supervision.
• Formal didactic instruction in psychoanalytic psychotherapy, to include the integration of psychoanalytical concepts in case formulation; simultaneous attunement to process and content during the following therapy sessions; and the development of awareness and technical approaches to transference and counter transferences with patients.
• Psychoanalytic psychotherapy case supervision through in person group consultation sessions, and psychoanalytic psychotherapy instruction through didactic group classes in intermediate and advanced psychotherapy.

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS :

• A Master's degree in clinical psychology, counseling psychology, school psychology or a closely related field is required.
• Knowledge and understanding of clinical counseling principles, programs, and methodology
• Knowledge and regular use of evidence-based practices
• Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques
