Medix Infusion is seeking an experienced Certified Medical Assistant to join our team in San Marcos, TX. As a part-time team member, you will play a vital role in advocating for and supporting patients throughout their infusion therapy journey. You will collaborate with the Intake, Scheduling, Pharmacy, and Clinical departments to coordinate patient care, ensuring a seamless and positive experience.
Position Details:
- Onsite | Part-Time (2–3 days per week)
- Clinic Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM
- Must be willing to float between clinic locations and cover Saturdays as needed
- Work independently with minimal supervision as part of a small team

Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a patient advocate, addressing concerns and supporting a positive experience.
- Educate patients and their families on infusion therapy, side effects, and treatment adherence.
- Coordinate timely communication among departments and healthcare professionals.
- Maintain detailed and accurate patient records, including assessments and outcomes.
- Gather and review patient data, consulting with providers and referring offices when necessary.
- Follow clinical protocols to ensure safe and effective infusion therapy.
- Support non-clinical staff in the Patient Services Department as needed.
- Ensure timely task completion to avoid delays in patient care.
- Attend team meetings and training sessions.
- Assist with new staff orientation and training.
- Demonstrate courteous, compassionate, and professional behavior at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Active Medical Assistant Certification
- 1+ year of hands-on clinical experience
- Previous experience in IV therapy or infusion preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated commitment to compassionate, high-quality patient care
- Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team
- Must be able to perform all essential functions of the role, with or without reasonable accommodations
- Completion of a Predictive Index Assessment is required as part of the recruitment process
Physical Requirements:
- Frequent standing, walking, sitting, bending, and twisting
- Occasional lifting/moving of up to 50 pounds
- Prolonged periods of sitting, typing, and reading
- Vision requirements: reading, distance, computer, and color vision
- Strong communication (talking/hearing) is essential
