PART-TIME LIBRARY AIDE/ PROGRAM COORDINATOR ______________________________________________________________________________ City of Williams Position (Grade 3) Range $17.85 – 22.03 Summary of Position
The Williams Public Library Part-Time Library Aide / Program Coordinator position is vital in fostering community engagement through inclusive programming and high-quality library services. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to serving people of all ages and backgrounds in a welcoming and respectful environment. Key Responsibilities Library Support • Assist patrons with locating materials, using library resources, and answering basic reference questions. • Check books and other materials in and out, and process returns. • Organize and shelf materials to maintain an orderly collection. • Support library staff with administrative tasks, such as data entry, preparing reports, and managing supplies. Program Coordination • Coordinates, plans, and administers Library programs, outreach programs, and events for all ages, in-person and online, that advance the library’s mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities. • Collaborate with library staff and community organizations to create meaningful and engaging events. • Coordinate with other city officials to utilize available facilities effectively, ensuring they accommodate the continued growth in program attendance • Promote library programs through flyers, social media, and community outreach. • Monitor program attendance and gather feedback to assess effectiveness and improve future offerings. Customer Service • Provide friendly and helpful service to library patrons. • Enforce library policies and procedures professionally and courteously. • Address patron inquiries or direct them to the appropriate staff member.
Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Exhibits some knowledge of library science. Exhibits interest in literature, reading, and literacy. Keeps records and makes reports accurately. Lift to 30 pounds without physical exertion.
