QA Day Shift

Quality Assurance Specialist/Technician:

Job Description:

The Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist is responsible for efficiently and accurately performing tasks related to product testing, sample setup, and supporting various Quality Assurance programs.

We are currently hiring for two day-shift positions:

• Shift Hours: 6:00 AM – 6:15 PM
   
• Front Half Schedule: Sunday–Tuesday and rotating Wednesdays
   
• Back Half Schedule: Rotating Wednesdays, Thursday–Saturday
   

Essential Functions:

• Demonstrate familiarity with all applicable equipment and perform quality inspections on all related items.
   
• Conduct testing of finished products, raw materials, and associated items as required.
   
• Participate in monitoring product weight control, temperatures, packaging, and other key quality indicators.
   
• Obtain and maintain HACCP certification in accordance with company guidelines.
   
• Adhere to food safety and quality system requirements, including all pertinent regulatory, customer, and SQF standards.
   
• Communicate effectively with other departments, management, and team members to identify and address issues that may impact production efficiency.
   
• Accurately complete all required paperwork in a clear, legible, and timely manner, following established SOPs.
   
• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
   
• Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe work environment.
   
• Adhere to all required safety practices, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated areas.
   
• Take ownership of food safety, prerequisite programs, and food quality within the designated area. Promptly report any related concerns to management.
   
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands:

• Light to moderate physical effort may be required
• May be required to lift 30lbs regularly and 50lbs occasionally
• Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, and move around machinery for long periods of time
• Must be able to work in varying working climates, i.e., temperatures may vary from very hot to very cold

Requirements

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
• Must be exceptionally detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
• Must have exemplary listening skills, a positive attitude and enjoy working in a team environment
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Preferred Experience and Education:
• High School diploma/GED
• Previous experience working in a Quality Control or related position
• Previous experience working in a food manufacturing plant
• Experience with Good Manufacturing (GMP), Safe Quality Food (SQF) and/or HACCP practices

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $22.00 per hour
