Quality Assurance Technician Day Shift

Quality Assurance Specialist:

Job Description:

 The Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist is responsible for efficiently and accurately performing tasks related to product testing, sample preparation, and the execution of various quality assurance programs. 

Essential Functions:

• Demonstrate familiarity with all applicable equipment and perform quality inspections on all related items.
   
• Conduct testing of finished products, raw materials, and associated items as required.
   
• Assist in monitoring product weight control, temperatures, packaging, and other quality parameters.
   
• Obtain and maintain HACCP certification in accordance with company guidelines.
   
• Adhere to all food safety and quality system requirements, including compliance with regulatory, customer, and SQF standards.
   
• Maintain open communication with other departments, management, and team members, promptly reporting any issues that may affect production efficiency.
   
• Complete all required documentation clearly, legibly, and accurately, ensuring compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
   
• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
   
• Keep work areas clean, sanitary, and safe at all times.
   
• Adhere to all required workplace safety practices, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated areas.
   
• Take ownership of food safety, prerequisite programs, and food quality within your designated area; immediately report any concerns to management.
   
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands:

• Light to moderate physical effort may be required.
   
• Must be able to regularly lift up to 30 lbs and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
   
• Frequent standing, walking, reaching, and movement around machinery is required for extended periods.
   
• Must be able to work in varying climates; temperatures may range from very hot to very cold.

Preferred Experience and Education:

High School diploma/GED

Previous experience working in a Quality Control or related position

Previous experience working in a food manufacturing plant

Experience with Good Manufacturing (GMP), Safe Quality Food (SQF) and/or HACCP practices
