Job Description - Receiving Coordinator - Split Shift

What You’ll Do:

The Receiving Coordinator manages all inbound freight at the off-site warehouse, ensuring accurate and timely receipt of goods. Responsibilities include scheduling deliveries, verifying documentation, and coordinating with vendors, carriers, and internal teams. This role is key to maintaining inventory accuracy, efficient processing, and effective dock utilization.

Hours: Monday through Friday 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM CST

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates all inbound shipment appointments and maintains the daily dock schedule to optimize receiving capacity and labor planning
  • Ensures all required documents (e.g., packing slips, bills of lading, purchase orders, and advanced shipment notices) are accurate and complete prior to receipts
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for incoming freight
  • Verifies incoming shipments against purchase orders and works closely with Inventory Control to identify and resolve discrepancies
  • Acts as a liaison between warehouse operations, procurement, inventory, and transportation providers to ensure a timely and accurate flow of goods
  • Enters receiving data into the company business system (ERP, WMS, or other types of systems utilized by the company) and ensures all transactions are completed in a timely and accurate manner
  • Supports adherence to all safety policies, warehouse SOPs, and regulatory requirements related to receiving staging, and documentation retention
  • Identifies inefficiencies or bottlenecks in receiving processes and collaborates with leadership to implement improvements
  • Operates power equipment (Forklift, pallet jack, etc.) when needed
  • Cross-trains within other departments to provide coverage or assistance
  • Performs additional responsibilities when required 

Requirements

What You’ll Bring:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in a receiving, inventory, or logistics coordination role
  • Proficiency with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and Microsoft Office or Google Workspace tools
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a dynamic environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with common freight terms and documentation practices
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and communicate effectively with external partners
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information
  • Ability to maintain a professional atmosphere in a fast-paced environment with numerous interactions and interruptions
  • A high degree of initiative, self-motivation, and the ability to motivate others
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with Team Members and colleagues
  • Comfortable with office pets (cats, dogs)
