Job Description - Receptionist

Responsibilities:

  • Greet, assist and direct visitors and residents appropriately
  • Screen and direct all incoming calls.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally on the telephone and in person.
  • Answer all inquiries according to the facility’s policies and procedures.
  • Communicate and work cooperatively with all facility employees/departments.
  • Sort mail daily.
  • Operate computer, telephone system and other office equipment.
  • Handle transactions and deposits - maintain, balance, distribute and report funds.
  • Type and copy forms and correspondence for various departments as assigned.
  • Maintain necessary filing systems.
  • Maintain sign-in sheets.
  • Monitor front door and screening table/kiosk
  • Maintain schedules for Conference Room and Family Room.
  • Inventory and order office supplies.
  • Prepare new employee files.
  • Keep the procedure manuals current.
  • Maintain telephone number list.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Proven work experience or educational background as a Receptionist, Front Office Representative or other similar role
  • Proficiency with clerical skills (typing, filing, etc.) and basic bookkeeping skills.
  • Demonstrated computer skills.
  • Experience in medical terminology preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills and the ability to manage several tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong customer service skills including the ability to display great deal of patience, consideration and tact when dealing with residents, families and visitors.
  • Strong oral and written communication.
  • Experience working with geriatric population preferred.
  • Professional appearance
  • Must be able to report to work as scheduled and consistently demonstrate dependability and punctuality.
  • Must confidentially maintain resident information.
  • Good physical and mental health.
