JOB DESCRIPTION

We’re looking to grow our team!
We are excited to announce an opening for a Receptionist position. This role may be filled as one full-time position or two part-time positions, depending on the right candidates.

As the welcoming face of Evangel, the Receptionist provides excellent hospitality, administrative support.

Position Summary

This position is responsible for providing outstanding guest services by addressing inquiries via phone and in person.  This position is often the first encounter a guest has with Evangel and is responsible for establishing a welcoming rapport with guests and serving as a resource of information about Evangel and its ministries for attenders and guests.  This position also provides administrative support to the Central Administrator.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Positively and enthusiastically greet guests entering the church office and directing them to the appropriate person/ministry


• Answer calls on a multi-line telephone system


• Serve as a resource of information and direct inquiries to the appropriate staff member if unable to assist


• Use diplomacy and discretion in providing information and in referring and directing calls


• Maintain confidentiality


• Assist in updating the Church Management database


• Receive and process incoming and outgoing mail/packages


• General administrative and clerical support to the Central Administrator


• Maintain cleanliness and organization of office area and copy room


• Maintain office inventory and reorder supplies


• Record and distribute minutes at biweekly All Staff Chapel or All Staff meetings

• Strong verbal and written communication skills to a variety of audiences


• Professionalism, compassion and poise when interacting with external contacts


• Excellent time management skills and attention to detail


• Technology savvy and willingness to learn new technology platforms


• Computer proficiency: Apple platform, Google Workspace, Microsoft Excel/Word, Slack

About Evangel

Evangel was started in 1928 because two brothers had a passion to reach the community of Bismarck for Jesus. Through the years, Evangel has grown into a church with a regular weekend attendance that surpasses 3,000 people joining across all its campuses. The church is served by a dynamic group of Elders and church staff who give direction and oversight to the church. While Evangel’s broadcast location remains in Bismarck, the vision is regional in nature and people are being reached all across the upper Midwest and beyond!
