Receptionist

PURPOSE:

The Switchboard Operator intercepts and routes incoming calls, takes thorough messages, and provides basic information to caller. He or she is the dealership’s front-line contact with the public and must represent the dealership in a professional, friendly manner at all times.  This is a PART TIME POSITION.

HOURS: Mon/Thurs/Fri:  Late afternoons (flexible)   Saturday: 8-5

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Intercepts all incoming calls 


• Communicate with callers in a professional, friendly, and efficient manner, striving to minimize the time they are put on hold.


• Take thorough messages, indicating the caller’s first and last name, company name if applicable, the time, and the message the caller wishes to leave.


• Communicate messages to the appropriate parties in a timely manner.


• Provide basic information to callers who have general inquiries.


• Perform clerical duties, such as scanning vehicle documents & reviewing scanned documents for accuracy.


• Assist vehicle, sales and office staff with other duties as the need arises.


• Must follow company safety policies and practices, and immediately report any and all accidents to a manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.


• Must speak clearly on the telephone and convey an image of professionalism and competence to callers.


• Must be able to convey messages to employees clearly and quickly.
