Recess Supervisor Job Description 

Immanuel Christian School 

It will be the job of the Recess Supervisor to assist students during their lunch recess time away from the classroom. During the recess period the Recess Supervisor, with the help of parent volunteers and another staff member, will maintain an environment where students can enjoy their recess with their classmates in a safe atmosphere.  

It will be the responsibility of the Recess Supervisor to perform the following duties in accomplishing the above purpose: 

I. Spiritual Preparedness and Responsibilities 

1. Maintain a daily personal devotional life so as to be prepared spiritually for the demands of each day. 
2. Demonstrate, by example, love and obedience to Christ and His Word. 
3. Attend an evangelical church and serve in a church ministry as the Lord leads 

 Job Duties The Recess Supervisor is responsible for maintaining a safe environment for students to enjoy their recess time away from the classroom. 

1. Maintain discipline and order 
2. Assist in caring for students when they are injured 
3. Dismiss students to lunch and class in an orderly manner  
4. Help students deal with relationship issues, as they arise in an unstructured environment, according to Scripture in order to facilitate Christian character

Qualifications 

The Recess Supervisor will be regenerated by the Holy Spirit through personal faith in Jesus Christ and acceptance of Jesus as Savior, and will have a working knowledge of the Bible. The Recess Supervisor will have a cooperative spirit and be able to function well as part of the team and report directly to the Assistant Administrator.  An ability to work with parents, assist teachers, and be sensitive to the needs of students and cooperate with other team structures is highly recommended.
