Bridges Dental, located in the heart of Union Square, San Francisco, is a boutique dental office specializing in cosmetic and restorative dentistry. Our spa-like environment is designed to provide exceptional patient care in a relaxing setting. We are currently seeking a part-time hygienist who is fabulous, upbeat, kind, gentle, thorough, and professional to join our team.
We see 8 patients per day, 3 days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday), and pride ourselves on delivering high-quality and outstanding dental care to our dynamic and wonderful patients. Our office is fully digital, utilizing radiographs and Curve cloud-based software. We are open to candidates who can work 1, 2, or all 3 of our available days. We look forward to meeting you!
Responsibilities and Qualifications:
- Conduct patient assessments to identify potential oral health issues.
- Utilize dental terminology to communicate effectively with patients and other healthcare professionals.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of human anatomy and its relation to oral health.
- Operate dental imaging equipment to capture diagnostic images.
- Take vital signs as needed.
- Ensure HIPAA compliance in all interactions with patients and patient records.
- Maintain accurate and detailed dental and medical documentation of patient visits.
- Stay up to date with Universal Precautions techniques to prevent infection and ensure infection control measures are in place.
- Collaborate with dentists and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
Responsibilities
- Welcome patients into the treatment area and make them feel comfortable
- Discuss the dental care plan with patients and answer any questions they have
- Prep sterilized equipment and make it available to the dentist for exams and procedures
- Take vital signs and accurately record medical histories
- Perform preliminary exams and collect oral health histories
- Evaluate patients for signs of gum disease, cavities, and infection
- Remove plaque and apply fluoride treatments
- Teach good oral hygiene techniques
- Create dental impressions
- Take digital x-rays
- Assist dentist during procedures and exams
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and office policies
Qualifications:
- Current licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) or equivalent.
- Commitment to providing exceptional patient care and a positive patient experience.
- Associate’s Degree from a school certified by the Commission on Dental Accreditation, Bachelor’s or Master’s degree preferred
- At least 1-2 years of experience in dental hygiene
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and all dentistry safety guidelines
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
