Title: Registered Nurse

Job Description

Heartbeet Lifesharing is hiring for the position of Heartbeet Nurse to provide oversight and  training for medication administration and support for the care of Heartbeet residents with developmental disabilities.

The Heartbeet Nurse is the nurse-on-record for the purpose of our Therapeutic Community Residence (TCR) license with the Vermont Agency of Human Services, and will be required to be familiar with and abide by the TCR Regulations for Nursing Staff, supporting Heartbeet’s practices and documentation to be in compliance.

Roles & Responsibilities 

• Training non-licensed staff in medication administration as well as the delegation, observation, and oversight of said medication administration by non-licensed staff


• Monthly review of Medication Administration Records (MARs) for errors and following up on any medication errors as well as updating MARs as needed with any medication changes


• Monthly “check in” of medication bubble packs from our pharmacy and removing expired medications from each house as needed


• Monitoring the health and well-being of residents at Heartbeet, including designating time monthly for assessments with each resident


• Review medical appointment forms, following up when necessary
  

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

The ideal candidate will have experience working with others, along with:

• Nurse Management: Substantial experience with managing a team/department


• Experience managing their own time while working in coordination with other department members’ schedules and project time-frames and deadlines


• Digital and software skills: navigation of basic software, ability to adapt to organization’s portals for digital medical records, and ability to edit and distribute documents and/or communications directly (proficiency with Google Suite is ideal)


• Time management and efficiency with tasks; ability to manage and complete a project within realistic timeframe


• Ability to translate nursing experience, rules, etc. into the Heartbeet setting


• Excellent verbal communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships


• The applicant must possess good judgment, initiative, excellent attitude, and dependability

• Self-driven and self-managing

Qualifications

• 18+ Years of Age


• Applicant must hold a current RN license with the state of Vermont


• Applicant must not have any suspensions/revocations on their license history


• Valid U.S. Driver’s License


• I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification 


• Must pass required Background Checks for position

Part-Time: 14 Hours/Week

Weekends: Potential flexibility for weekend hours

Job Location: Hybrid - onsite work required, with flexibility in schedule and some ability to work from home
