Registered Nurse - ED 0.9 FTE

Prairie Ridge Health is looking for a team member to join our Emergency Department in the role of Registered Nurse. This position is part-time: (0.9 FTE - 36 hours per week) nights with an occasional day shift with 12 hour shifts with an every 3rd weekend and holiday and weekend rotation.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional who provides leadership for other members of the patient care team.  The RN performs patient age-specific physical, psychological, and social assessments, formulates a nursing diagnosis and then develops a plan of care, which includes individualized treatment strategies.  The RN manages, organizes, and provides direct patient care incorporating clinical decision-making and prioritization of activities.  The RN is responsible for triaging patients presenting to the E.D. and beginning the patient assessment according to the triage priorities.  The RN is responsible for assuring the implementation of the plan of care for the patients, if delegated to other staff. The RN participates in education of the patient/family and other health team members, incorporating health maintenance, disease process, and discharge planning. The RN performs other such duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Education Requirements/Licensure/Certification/Registration

• Current Wisconsin license as a Registered Nurse
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing is desirable
• CPR certification
• TNCC Preferred
• ENPC or PALS Preferred
• Computer knowledge preferred
• ACLS certification within first year of employment
• Experience in Emergency or Critical Care Nursing preferred

FTE: 0.9 (36hours per week)

Shift: 8–12-hour shifts. 7PM-7AM with every third weekend and holiday rotation. May work 11PM-7AM or 7PM-7AM.
