Our mission is to empower our clients through compassionate support and tailored programs that enhance their quality of life. This position is involved in the care, coordination, and treatment of the adult and children residents living in our group homes. The position is part-time with on-call duties. Working location is a blend of office work at the Company's main office and at our three group homes. Summary


We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join our team at Developmental Options in our ICF/ID program. The Registered Nurse (RN) provides oversight, guidance, and clinical consultation to ensure high-quality nursing care in compliance with federal and state regulations specific to ICF/IID facilities. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with directing a medical team, coordinating care for our residents, managing training and directives for our staff, and show exceptional character. Ideal candidates will have the ability to navigate a variety of patient diagnoses and be able to work effectively in a team to determine long-term goals to aide in providing optimal care for our residents. They will be comfortable in working with other medical providers in the community, such as doctors, clinics, and pharmacies. Your contributions will be vital in helping us fulfill our mission of delivering high-quality community-based services.



Responsibilities



  • Provide periodic assessments and consultations on the health status of individuals in the facility.

  • Writes and presents annual nursing summary of each resident at Individual Program Plan meetings. This takes place annually or as needed.

  • Review and evaluate individual healthcare plans and provide input for comprehensive assessments and service plans.

  • Monitor compliance with health-related policies, procedures, and nursing standards as per ICF/IID guidelines.

  • Conduct nursing audits and make recommendations for quality improvement.

  • Complete quarterly nursing assessment.

  • Delegate nursing tasks and medical responsibilities to Registered Medical Assistant, Certified Nursing Assistant's, and unlicensed assistive personnel in accordance with the Idaho Board of Nursing’s Delegation Model, ensuring tasks are appropriate to the individual's training, competency, and scope of practice. Provide ongoing supervision, evaluation, and documentation of delegated tasks to maintain compliance with state regulations and promote safe, person-centered care.

  • Train and mentor direct support staff and unlicensed personnel on delegated nursing tasks, medication administration, infection control, and health protocols.

  • Review medication administration records (MARs), incident reports, and documentation for accuracy and regulatory compliance.

  • Assist with investigations related to health or medical incidents and provide nursing-related input for root cause analyses.

  • Collaborate with physicians, pharmacies, and external healthcare providers as needed to support individual care needs.

  • Support infection control programs, including the development of procedures and education during outbreaks or public health emergencies.

  • Stay current on state and federal regulations related to ICF/IID services and ensure recommendations align with best practices and compliance.

  • Provide administrator with input about written policies, procedures and training programs used for personnel.

  • Support RMA with on-call responsibilities as needed.



Requirements



  • Active and unrestricted RN license in Idaho.

  • Experience with interdisciplinary teams and person-centered care planning.

  • Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound clinical judgment.

  • Over 21 and have a clean driving record



Preferred Qualifications



  • Prior experience consulting in long-term care, ICF/IID, or similar settings.

  • Certification in Developmental Disabilities Nursing (optional but desirable).

  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

  • Knowledge of ICF/IID federal regulations (42 CFR § 483 Subpart D) and applicable state rules.
