Job Summary:

This position is responsible for the physical preparation and breakdown of event spaces, including setting up tables, chairs, staging, and other equipment. This role requires physical capability and a strong work ethic. They also need to ensure event spaces are arranged according to floor plans and safety regulations. Light sweeping or mopping may be required during breakdown.

Ministerial Character

The Pastor is the visible principle and foundation of unity in the Parish (St. Jerome Catholic Church) which the Bishop has entrusted to him.  He makes Christ’s mission present and enduring in the parish.  In order to fulfill his mission, the Pastor employs suitable, chosen collaborators (clerics, religious, or lay people).  He shares with them his mission and entrusts various responsibilities to them.

Positions employed at St. Jerome Catholic Church help to extend the ministry of the Pastor in particular ways as outlined in the job description.  Therefore, the employee in this position is closely connected to and assists the Pastor in the performance of his ministry and thereby engages in ministry for the Church.

Essential Job Duties: 

· As an integral part of your ministry for the Church as carried out in this position, support and uphold the philosophy of Catholic ministry and the mission of Saint Jerome Catholic Church in both your professional and personal life.

· Act as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of Jesus Christ.

· Help and coordinate with planning and managing setup for events

· Report to and take instructions from the Faith & Family Life Director, Operations Manager, or Admin Manager

· Coordinate with other members of the staff to ensure tasks are completed on time

· Set up venues, such as chairs, tables, stages, sound and light equipment

· Ensure cleanliness and organization of venues

· Clean after the event and check items for damage or missing parts

· Pack up equipment and other inventory when the event is over

· Follow event safety standards and regulations

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

· Demonstrate good judgement.

· Ability to read and follow written and/or oral directions, instructions on procedures, and materials used in job duties.

· Reasoning ability – capable of making good, sound decisions 

· Ability to perform physical duties needed for job duties which include lifting up to 30 pounds and climbing ladders, etc.
