Empowered Services is a one-on-one attendant care agency providing Activities of Daily Living (ADL) support and community-based services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) in their own homes.

Position Overview
We are hiring a Community Support Specialist (DSP) to provide 1:1 in-home and community-based support in the Dayton area.
In this role, you will:
Support daily living activities (ADLs)
Provide transportation and assist with community outings
Encourage independence and life skill development
Maintain clear, consistent, and supportive boundaries
Provide safe, respectful, and reliable care
This position is ideal for someone who is dependable, patient, and confident in providing structure and guidance in community settings.
About the Individual You’ll Support
You will be supporting an adult who:
Enjoys Special Olympics basketball and bowling
Benefits from consistent routines and clear expectations
Requires support with transportation, community engagement, and life skills
Needs guidance with social boundaries and daily responsibilities
This role is a great fit for someone who can provide structured support while encouraging independence and confidence.
Schedule
Tuesday: 4:30 PM – 8:30 PM
Additional: 6–8 hours per week (flexible scheduling for cleaning support and community outings)
Pay & Benefits
$23–$25 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)
Full-time employees (30+ hours/week) are eligible for:

Key Responsibilities
Provide ADL support (hygiene, routines, household tasks)
Assist with transportation to practices, appointments, and activities
Support community engagement (sports, outings, events)
Assist with household cleaning and organization
Encourage appropriate social behavior and independence
Maintain clear communication and professional boundaries
Document services and communicate updates with care teams
Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive environment
Qualifications
Must be 18 years or older
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Current auto insurance (meeting state requirements)
Ability to pass a background check (not all records are disqualifying)
Comfortable providing personal care support
Preferred (not required):
Experience in caregiving, DSP, or community support roles
Experience supporting individuals with I/DD
CPR/First Aid certification
