Job Description - Digital & Social Media Producer

Digital & Social Media Producer
At Church on the Rock Alaska, our heart is to help people discover how they can LOVE God and others, LIVE with passion, purpose, and freedom in Christ, and LEAD others into the same transformative life, building Gospel-centered gatherings across our multi-campus communities while reaching even more through our online ministry.



This is a part-time (20 hours weekly) position, and the Digital & Social Media Producer reports directly to the Central Media Director and collaborates closely with Central Support.



Key Responsibilities


1. Social Media Management & Production



  • Oversee all multi-campus social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube), including creating monthly content strategies, approving/directing weekly posts, maintaining unified brand voice and visuals, reviewing analytics, and adjusting tactics for maximum engagement and reach.

  • Review and report analytics and adjust strategy.

  • Lead and manage the COTR Capture Crew to film engaging content during Sunday services and weekday events at each campus.

  • Produce weekly graphics, Reels, Stories, and short-form videos tailored for Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube.

  • Edit, package, and format content for optimal performance across platforms.

  • Participate in weekly Programming Meetings to align on upcoming needs and vision.

  • Attend the quarterly Creative Offsite meetings.



2. Graphic & Website Design



  • Design weekly graphics for event promotions, announcements, Story highlights, and ministry-specific content (Kids, Youth, Men, Women, Missions, etc.).

  • Design and maintain the COTR website: https://churchak.org

  • Ensure strict brand consistency in colors, fonts, templates, tone, and style.

  • Work within established templates and create new ones as assigned.

  • Attend weekly Programming Meetings for project alignment.

  • Work closely with Publications to match branding and vision.



3. Video Production & Editing



  • Edit Sunday sermon clips into compelling Reels and social posts with consistent storytelling that aligns with COTR’s creative standards.

  • Export and deliver files in multiple aspect ratios (16:9, 9:16, 1:1) for all platforms.

  • As needed, assist the Central Media Director in filming and editing short interviews, testimonies, stories, promotional Reels, and recap videos.



4. Moderate for Online Ministry



  • Serve as primary moderator for Sunday online services and other livestreams.

  • Build, train, and lead a team of volunteer online moderators.

  • Oversee livestream comments, foster engagement, handle prayer follow-ups, and ensure the online campus reflects the same warmth, excellence, and heart as our in-person experience.

  • Collaborate closely with Campus Pastors and assigned leadership to support and grow the digital community.

  • Act with integrity in all public and private dealings on behalf of Church on the Rock (COTR) or otherwise

  • Care for Serve Team members in a respectful and Christ-like manner

  • Communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats

  • Develop leaders and provide leadership in areas of responsibility

  • Be discreet and discerning regarding sensitive information to which you may be privy

  • Protect the reputation and integrity of others through strict confidentiality and accountability

  • Work collaboratively across departments and campuses

  • Manage additional responsibilities as assigned and/or agreed upon

  • Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in managing data and processes

  • Uphold a strong personal commitment to the mission and values of Church on the Rock



Qualifications



  • A born-again believer, baptized, filled with the Holy Spirit, and living under the lordship of Jesus Christ

  • Previous experience in church/ministry media production, multi-platform content creation, or online community moderation

  • Experience leading volunteer teams or crews

  • Familiarity with Alaskan communities and multi-campus church dynamics

  • Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills

  • Experience coordinating events, managing databases, and supporting team collaboration

  • Current screening form and background check on file
